Where will Virgin Media’s Drive-In Movies be shown?

What time do the screenings start?

The first screening is from 3pm-5pm. 

The second screening is from 7pm-9pm.

 

Gates will open approx. 45 minutes before each showing. Cars cannot be parked on site in advance of this. Following the screening, staff will guide you to the exit. Please be patient as getting cars out of the car parks will take time. We will have a traffic management system in place at all venues to ensue as efficient an exit as possible. Late comers may be refused entry. This is a ticket only event. 

 

Do I have to buy one ticket per car, or per person?

You buy one ticket per car.

How many people can go in one car?

For comfort and a good view, we recommend 3 people maximum per car. 

However, you can bring up to 5 people in total. 

 

How much does my ticket cost and where does the money go?

A ticket per car costs €10 with all proceeds donated to the National Parents Council. A commission fee of 5% will be charged on all tickets plus a processing fee 1.4% + €0.20c per transaction.

 

 

How will I receive my ticket?

Your tickets will be emailed to you. Please print this ticket and bring
it on the night. Please place it on your dashboard to help speed up the
checking of tickets.

What vehicles are not permitted?

Vans, large vans, camper vans, high roof vans, trucks, mini buses and coaches are not permitted and will be refused entry on site. Larger cars like seven seaters are allowed but will be asked to park in a designated area, higher vehicles must park behind smaller vehicles.

What movie will be played and what is the Film Certification?

Mamma Mia is screening from 3p-5pm. PG cert
Bohemian Rapsody is screening from 7pm-9pm. 12A cert

 

What security will be in place before entering the venue?

Security may request to view any handbags and other bags that attendees are bring to the event. Loud music, offensive language, horn honking or any other behaviours that may disrupt other guests will not be allowed. Right of admission reserved.

Speed limit in the venue

The speed limit in all venues is max 15kph. There will be guests and staff walking on site so please be vigilant and alert and we ask you to drive responsibly.

Are spaces allocated?

There is no reserved space or VIP parking. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, You will be guided to your space upon arrival, filling the front rows first. There will be good views of the screen from all spaces. Please do not take up more than the space allocated to your car. Larger vehicles will be asked to park in specific areas. All cars will be asked to park in close proximity to the cars either side of them, this is to ensure the best views for all vehicles.  After the movie, our staff will guide you to the nearest exit point. Please be patient.

What happens if it rains?

The event will always go ahead in the event of rain. Please check the weather forecast in advance and be prepared for Irish weather. Screenings will only be cancelled if the weather conditions present a danger at screening time. In the unlikely event that a screening is cancelled, we will aim to give as much notice as possible, so please keep an eye out for information on the website and social media.

Can I bring food and drink?

Yes you can bring food. Food and soft drinks can also be brought on site. Each car will receive four popcorn vouchers. 

Is alcohol and smoking permitted?

Alcohol and smoking is not permitted in the venue.

How do I listen to the movie?

You must have a functioning FM stereo in your vehicle. Details of FM frequencies will be shown at each movie venue.

 

Will there be toilet facilities at the screenings?

Yes, there will be toilets at the venue. Where possible please use the facilities prior to the beginning of the film to minimise the disruption to other guests.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, all of our sites have wheelchair access, but please inform us in advance if you require wheelchair entry and exit and we'll ensure you are looked after.

Are there deaf and hard of hearing options?

Yes. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, please email us in advance at virginmovies@virginmedia.ie and we'll make sure that movie subtitles are switched on for you. 

Can cars be kept running during the movie?

Engines and lights must be turned off during movie screenings. If required, to charge your battery, your vehicle can be started at intervals during the movie. If your vehicle does not have the capability to turn off LED or day time lights please inform one of our stewards. 

Do the organisers take responsibility for vehicles on site?

Vehicles are parked solely at the owner’s risk. Virgin Media, Catapult and all venues do not take any responsibility for loss or damage to your property whilst attending Virgin Drive in movies.

Will there be a camera crew at the event?

There will be a camera crew present at the events. Purchase of this ticket constitutes permission for Virgin Media to publish any photography and video content in which the ticket holder is featured for the purposes of advertising and publicity in such media as Virgin Media may choose without additional compensation.
